BASIC GRAPHIC DESIGN FOR BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS
This 30 hour course is best suited to corporations and organizations that would like to elevate their staff to a professional approach to producing and maintaining small marketing documents such as product sheets, newsletters and ads.

At the end of this course, students will have the skills required to design and lay out marketing documents one to four pages in length with an appreciation for art direction, typography, graphic design and target market analysis.

This course is offered in your workplace for individuals or a group of 4 – 12. It is scalable and can be customized to your specific requirements. Please contact me for scheduling, classroom requirements and fees.

WEBSITE CONTENT DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP
You want to build a website, but what are you going to put in it? Kickstart your website development with this introduction to website content. Do you want to advertise your small business, organization, promote a product or service, or simply tell the world about yourself? This highly interactive two-hour workshop gets you organized before you start building a website. We'll also show you how to use some free web building tools.

The workshop is conducted on your premises for a group of 12 – 20 participants for a fixed fee of $240. Please contact me for scheduling and classroom requirements.

Online Tutorials

When clients ask me to design, write and create web-based self-guided tutorials, I make sure that the pacing of information and interaction is an integral feature. The tutorials featured here were developed for Sporg Internet Inc., an online payment processing company. Software used was Adobe Captivate with support from Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash. The challenge was to take their extensive webinar presentations and distill them into two-minute self-guided modules. The client later added the evaluation feature and narration. The work process involved:

Research with Subject Matter Experts
Storyboarding
Technical Writing
Screen Capture
Design & Layout
Testing

Complex procedures are best suited to short online tutorials like these. It allows the learners to go at their own pace, if necessary repeating specific sections without fear of holding back other participants. Evaluation can be built in to the end of each module and can be set as a requirement for advancing to the next tutorial.
